INTRODUCTION:
The feast of Christmas is coming. It is one of the feasts which is prominent in the Christian circles today. It is a feast which is celebrated every year on behalf of the birth day of Jesus Christ. This feast has lasted over one thousand five hundred years now and no one questions the source or origin of this feast. We actually were born into the word and met this feast, then we joined the cue. Now everyone is talking about Christmas and even waiting for the period to come on yearly bases. Right now the celebration is only a few weeks away from us. But let’s go deep into the Bible and see whether we are supposed to celebrate it or not. Let’s see the origin.
THE SOURCE OR ORIGIN OF CHRISTMAS:
Right into the Bible we are searching where this feast started and to see the origin of it. We discovered that this feast does not exist in the Bible. It was not part of the Doctrines of the Church of Christ. Christmas was not in existence at the time of the Birth of Christ himself. It was not in existence during the time of the Apostles of Jesus Christ, else its existence would have been seen in the Bible.
If you want to talk about the truth, talk about the truth and nothing more than the truth. Do not be myopic about it because you want to show Christ a favor. You don’t even know whether he is happy with it or not. In searching for the truth, keep your mind open for it. How could he be happy with Christmas? Something he didn’t celebrate from his Parents, a no issue in practice as a child and as well a man. If he had celebrated Christmas at any time the Bible would have its record.
When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men searched him out from the east. When they came and paid courtesy on Herod the great, for it was right that they should first come to the ruling king and ask about their way. The Bible said he was troubled with Jerusalem Matt.2. Herod the great was not an Israelis, but an Idumean. He was of the lineage of Esau. But he was not elected to rule by the people of Israel, instead he was appointed by Caesar, the ruling world power then, Rome. Christ to the beginning of his ministry, even to his death, was there any time this feast was celebrated? No!
Can you show us the scripture that says it? Just show us the Bible passage/s that carry such feasts. Not just to look for the passage/s that carry the record of his birth and use it, no tell us the passage that carry the celebration of Christmas, during his birth and or in his ministry before his death. He died a full- fledged man and not a Child. Yes, because those who are celebrated this feast are seeing him as a baby every year. They are using the Roman picture of mother and child religion for him every year. They never see him as a grown up, how much more to believe that he was and is God. He was thirty years old when he started his ministry, and died three and years later. There was no time a man of thirty years old remembered to celebrate his birth day.
In fact, what he commanded us to do continually is to celebrate his death till he comes. If he could remember about his death, do you believe he forgot about his birth day? No, not at all. This feast was instituted by Rome in other to cover the great wickedness which they meted on him and on his Church after his death. The Church had lasted over three hundred years before the existence of Christmas. Have you forgotten when Emperor Constantine the great enthroned himself unto the throne? What year did it happen? Around the year AD. 311-12. The church had been in existence by this time, being persecuted and martyred by the Emperors.
Again after his death his Apostles took over from him. Can you show us again where one or more of his disciples celebrated Christmas in the early Church era before their exit by the Romans? Brother, Sister, I love Christ too. In fact I’m addicted to him. I can say that I’m even a fanatic for him, so to say. But I look for the best way to serve him. I look into his doctrines to know what he likes, what he commanded us to do for him and what we are to avoid. We will not please him on a worldly bases no, i.e based on what the whole world approves, no but on what he gives the Church to do. We are now on the contrary and still believe we are pleasing him.
Before he went to the cross, he prophesied that would “build his Church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it” Matt. 16:18. Have you taken time to ask yourself saying “Who or what is the gate of hell”? Meditate on this very well and you will understand who or what the gate of Hell is. Rome was that gate of Hell. The feast of Christmas was a heathen festival which was celebrated on every December, at least starting from 20th or thereabout to be finally rounded up on the 25th.. In disguise they used the day of this feast and named it to Christ in other to cover many things they spoiled. Of course you remember that when they eliminated all the disciples or Apostles, they turned around and claimed to be the first church. I have a question for you “what is the mass” to which his name was joined? See, I know Christ but who owns the Mass”? Just write “Christ” remove “mass” and tell us who owns the mass”? I refuse to be confused by this theory. Rome and her churches owns the mass.
They do not attend to or go to church every Sunday, instead they go to mass. “But do we go to mass or to Church”? I told you that they did it in disguise, just to win us or you with that feast. They believe that whenever you hear about Christ, you will join in the celebration not minding what it really means to you. Please I’m careful about what I do. If you are not careful, that’s your business entirely. But I have made it clear to you.
Now the Bible tells us that at the mouth of two or three witnesses, the truth is established. Do you still believe this word? Prophet Job cursed the day of his birth as well as Jeremiah. They were two witnesses in the Bible who cursed their birth day. You may say “they only cursed their day, but that you will not curse your own day”. Yea, but it goes ahead to confirm you better, as one who is not mindful at all. The question is “did Jesus not know about birth day”? Or do we believe he didn’t anything about birth day”? Then why did he command us to always remember the Holy Communion? It means he has nothing to do with the birth day celebration which is celebrated by the world every year. This was the brain child of Rome which likes to celebrate every week, every month and every year.
Like I said before, every celebration which is done on worldly bases does not belong to the Church of Christ. No Apostle celebrated it, no Church was mentioned as where it originated. The Church of Rome claims the ownership of Christmas and we are even trying to take it over from them. We look for the Bible passages that carry the birth of Christ and use it as the reference to Christmas, this is absolutely wrong. We should celebrated what the Bible commanded us to celebrate. The feast of Christmas was one of the idols which Rome celebrate every end of the year, but it was later renamed to Christ but performed on the same day 25th December. Thus with this in mind, those who join celebration have joined in serving that idol in disguise.
Earlier they told us that Christ was born on Christmas day the 25th December. But when we come to know the truth, we discovered it was a lie from the Pit of Hell. Since Christ was born in Israel, we should take Israeli report on the birth of Christ, or the Jewish report on the birth of Christ. But instead, Rome is championing it why? What is the geographical relationship of Rome with Israel? Israel is an Asian country while Rome is in Italy in Europe, if not that Rome was the sixth world power, they would not have ruled Israel at all. Daniel had even prophesied that “the horn/Beast shall think to change times and law” Dan.7:25. This is one of the laws changed by Rome which is the gate of Hell, as well as the terrible Beast in Dan.7:7. The feast of Christmas tends to change the feast of Pentecost but it is not possible by the grace of God.
The period is filled with things contrary to the desires of Christ, showing the true nature of its originator. It is the time of celebration with drinks and organization of parties. It is a time of fornication to the highest levels. Masquerades celebrate Christmas on the streets and people look for their evil partners in the spirit of Christmas. This was the original method of Christmas. The celebration of Christmas is usually done a few hours in the church, then the rest of the time is consumed serving the Devil. Paul told us that “the kingdom of God is not meat and drinks” Rom.14:17. The spirit of Christmas does not allow the celebrants to observe this passage of the Bible. One would be struggling from January till the festive period, when he will spend all his sweat for Christmas in an immoral way.
