INTRODUCTION:
What does the Bible mean by the term "The day of the Lord" from the prophets to the Apostles of the Lord? 1. Isaiah 13: 9-13, 2. Joel 2: 2; 3. Amos.5: 18-20; 4.Zeph. 1:14-16; 5. Matt. 24: 29-31; 6.Acts.2:20; 7.Rev. 6:12-13 etc.
It is of great importance to those who call themselves Christians to know what the Bible mean by the term "the day of the Lord" from these prophets. We shall also try to survey the war of Armageddon following up immediately after it. Confused? Don't worry you shall be satisfied here. Many people have discarded this topic from their hearts because of what they believe or what has been taught to them by those they trust, and share their thoughts.
Others believe the prophecy concerning this day has been fulfilled and they have waved it aside with a wave of the hand. But wait, can I tell you what? Read this blog very well before you continue. It may give you a shock in a way you may not believe. Some people have asked me to write about it, so they could enjoy this truth from the scripture, because they have come to believe in my write ups as it satisfies their curiosity on the word.
There is great confusion over this day, why? The disciples themselves have named this day, "as the day of the Lord", ie "the day of Jesus’ resurrection" Rev. 1:10. Here Apostle John said he was in the spirit on the Lord’s Day. John did not suggest that the Day of Jesus’ resurrection should be the Day of the Lord. No, he spoke in an emphatic nature that, "that was the Lord’s Day". Instead, he gave him the day for being victorious in it. Yes! This is true.
Yet the day of the Lord is still in the future to come, how? The day is to be associated with events which did not take place on the day of Jesus resurrection, because the scriptures cannot be annulled, nor be unfulfilled. Instead some of those events took place on the day he gave up the Ghost, i.e the Darkness and earthquake Lk. 23:44-45. People should correctly interpret the scripture.
Now let’s take the prophet’s word one after the other and know what they mean. We should first understand what they had in mind before we try to interpret their words. If you don’t understand the mind of an author, artist or even a musician, you won’t enjoy their works; neither can you interpret his mind. Let’s here Isaiah '’Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath, and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate, and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity: and I will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible’’ Isaiah. 13: 9-13 kjv.
Whether we know it or not and whether we believe it or not, there are scriptures of the Old Testament that has not been fulfilled, and these passages are included. This prophecy is for the future as there was no destruction of sinners on the day of Jesus’ resurrection. The land was not laid desolate nor was there cruelty against the wicked recorded by the Bible, on the day of Jesus’ resurrection.
Let us interpret scripture in the right order, because Apostle Paul advised that we should ‘’study to show ourselves approved unto God’’ 2Tim. 2:15. And if God has not called you to interpret hard areas of the scriptures, you can preach on Salvation of souls, instead of destroying God’s word and believe you are working for God. Jesus taught us that talents are given according to several abilities Mtt. 25: 15. The ability of every man is known to him and it is not educationally based.
Let’s get on Isaiah’s words. He says the day of the lord cometh, cruel both with wrath, and fierce anger. All these shall be seen on the day of the lord, it is not a joke or a child’s play. He continues to say that the sinners shall be wiped out from the land. And the sun and moon shall be turned into Darkness, and that even the stars of heaven shall fall down to the earth.
The day in question is no other day than ‘’the day of Rapture’’. The events of this day are not for a particular region of the world, no, but it will take place as a world event, why? There is no nation where there are no sinners. And there is no nation/s where there are no saints, for this gospel shall be preached to all nations for a witness Matt. 24:14.
Rapture is a world event and this is the day the whole world shall see the manifestation of the saints from every nation, kindred and peoples and languages. The day of Rapture is a day of darkness Matt. 24:29-31. Notice the words of Isaiah about the sun, the moon and the stars of heaven; you will see agreement in interpretation with the book of Mathew.
Isaiah says the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, a suggestion that this event might begin like say ‘’before 12 noon’’ on that day. Maybe between 11.am and 11.30am, Rapture should have been over. Remember the Bible informs us that Rapture shall take place within the twinkle of an eye I Cor. 15: 51-52. Since it is the program of God, do you think that the process of Rapture shall be sluggish like man’s own? Rapture shall occur with the last trumpet and with alarm I Thess. 4:16-18.
Now let’s take on Joel’s prophecy. ‘’A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains, a great people and strong, there had not ever been a day like it, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations’’ Joel 2:2.
Jesus supported these passages with Matt. 24:21 read ‘’for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be’’. The time in question include tribulation period, a time the church will stand to be tried for three years and six months. Although the popular side reject tribulation against the church, but God would not take all the Goats which fill the church today to heaven. There must be a filtering of the church with trial.
Joel continues to say that ‘’the day of the Lord is a day of darkness and of gloominess’’. But our so called Pre trib believers who do not want trouble for the church are not seeing these scriptures, nor care about its contents. Joel says ‘’as the morning spread upon the mountains, a great people and strong’’ this means that the saints shall cluster around the Lord at his appearing. The saints shall come from every nation, kindred, language and peoples according to the Bible. Darkness and earth with the turning off of the sun, moon and stars are the real mark for the day of the Lord which is the day of Rapture. Another thing which shall accompany earthquake and darkness is the ‘’trumpet and shout’’ from the Lord himself according to Zephaniah and Paul I Thess. 4:16; Zeph. 1:16.
People should not gaze on what to say, or give their own interpretation without first consulting the owner of the word. Apostle Peter said ‘’no part of the scriptures is of any Private interpretation’’ 2 Pt.1:20. Prophet Joel was in agreement with Isaiah, Amos, and Zephaniah and even the Apostles of the Lord. One should not stand alone on these things, but especially, let the Lord help you.
Now let’s go to Mathew of the New Testament and see his own record about the day of the Lord. This Apostle picked exactly what the Lord said about his second coming, and he did not miss a word, read
‘’immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, the moon shall not give her light and the stars of heaven shall fall from heaven. And the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven, and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming with power and great glory’’ Matt. 24:29-30.
Though on this topic I’m on the minority side, but one thing that gives me joy is that majority had not always won any vote before God. If you believe I’m lying, go and ask Joshua and Caleb whether ten over two won their case against them. The case of majority won Caleb and Joshua before the people of Israel, but they were all against the decision of God, they all died; only Caleb and Joshua entered the land.
Pre tribulation means the belief that the church shall not enter or see the great tribulation. This belief or concept began around 1820 -1830, and was published by C.I Scoffield in 1900 precisely. The Apostles taught on Post tribulation, a belief that the church shall be filtered with the great tribulation.
The book of Rapture explained it in details, just try and get it for yourself. Apostle Mathew who was with Christ as a disciple saw and gave witness of what Jesus taught them on the Mount of Olives.
And it was what Joel had written with others. The day of the Lord is a day of darkness, not what you think it is. It is a day the Lord shall perform some special events on earth, like fighting a war against his enemies and destroying of sinners like Isaiah had mentioned.
Now what type of sinners shall he destroy on that day? What category? Shall he destroy the world on that day? No! The sinners to be destroyed are the ones which shall try to prevent Israel on the Mountains on the day of Rapture. Read my book of Rapture and have the understanding of how it shall be on that day. These events have not occurred and even Prophet Ezekiel made mention of it Ezk. 38-39.
When the days of tribulation are shortened according to Jesus’ teaching Matt. 24:22, the antichrist and his Soldiers shall surround Israel at the Mountains of Jerusalem. This is to prevent them from escape Matt. 24:15-18; Lk. 21: 20-22. This is the day in question as the day of the Lord. A day in which Jesus shall do a very terrible thing on earth, a day he shall be seen in a new dimension of activity.
I am not gazing on what I’m saying because Jesus commissioned me to write about the events of the last days which is known as ‘’eschatology’’. Surely my book or blog must be different from what you already know and believe. The Church today has been deceived and led out of the way to believe lies, from those who do not take even the teaching of Christ concerning his second coming.
Many activities shall be happening on this day. One of them is the Rapture of the Church. The second one shall be the sealing of the church on air. Surprised? You aren’t seen nothing yet. Let us also survey Apostle John’s Revelation about this day of the Lord; we are looking for agreement of scriptures on this day. What God showed Isaiah, Amos, Zephaniah, Joel etc, he showed the same to John in the New Testament.
Apostle John was invited from the Island of Patmos Rev. 1:9, where he was banished by the Roman Emperor for not dying when they wanted to eliminate him, to witness what happens when the Seals would be opened one after the other. He was commanded to write whatever he could see so as to educate and enlighten the church on the events of the last days. John had the Privilege of observing the opening of the seals one to seven.
Meanwhile the programs of the last days are recorded in seals and opened one after the other. You may read about these seals opening in the book of Rapture from me titled ‘’Rapture: the Past, Present and What to Expect in the Future’’. That book is highly loaded with information, every detail of the seals are in it minus the seventh seal which would come in another book.
The seal that controls the day of the Lord is the sixth seal in Revelation 6:12-13, and let us read, ‘’and I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and lo, there was an earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood. And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs when she is shaken of a mighty wind’’ Kjv.
These were the events which Isaiah, Amos, Joel, Zephaniah etc were all saying in their books. Mathew and Luke also made mentioned of them in their books. The events of the day of the Lord do not differ at all. It is only that they were recorded to take effect in cassettes of which when one ends, the other is fixed to continue with the programs until the seventh seal. Therefore seals contain the end time programs of God Almighty. Opening of seals are characterized with events, read about it in the book of Rapture from this author.
Darkness and earthquake are serious marks of identification of the day of the Lord, they have not happened in our time or before now. The total darkness of 1947 did not come with earthquake so it was not the day. The falling down of the stars of heaven is another sign which shall mark the day. Men should not say what they like because they have gained popularity before the Christian community.
I said earlier that the day is filled with great activities, because immediately after the Rapture of the church, there is going to be sealing on air of the church. But this one is coming in another blog. Another program that follows it immediately is the ‘’war of Armageddon’’. This war is also coming in another blog site. All these are programmed to take place on this day. It is actually a great day. How it will happen should not border you, because the Lord is not man but God. Prophet Joel says no day is like it even to the years of many generations. Think about it and Jesus gave support to it by saying
‘’For then shall be great tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be’’ Matt. 24:21. This statement indicates a very busy and wonderful day, a day that has not been seen in the history of the world, and Jesus say, ‘’nor ever shall be’’. Do you not understand something on it?
When the sixth seal is opened, the Rapture of the church shall characterize its opening, and sealing of the church on air follows up immediately Rev. 7:1-3. After the sealing then Jesus comes down immediately for the war of Armageddon Rev. 16:16. This war shall take place on the Mountains of Jerusalem, where the sinners shall be destroyed, and Ezekiel says their smell shall stop the noses of the passengers or passersby.
